If you’ve seen photos of Hollywood Studios construction over the past few months, you’ve probably noticed that some of the Streets of America facades still remain. This is for good reason!
Disney has just announced the new BaseLine Tap House will be the corner tenant of a new area called Grand Avenue. Located opposite the Muppets Courtyard and abutting the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, Grand Avenue will capture the spirit of present-day Downtown Los Angeles.
Back to the important part of this announcement, the bar! The BaseLine Tap House is billed as “a cheerful corner pub specializing in beer and wine from California.” We’re especially excited about having a new place to hang out and have a drink and small bites at Hollywood Studios. The park had started to lose our attention (temporarily) with only a few attractions left and the closure of our favorite bar High Octane.
With beer, wine, and specialty cocktails from California, and a “tree-shaded terrace,” BaseLine is sure to be a must stop when we visit Hollywood Studios.
Here’s the official announcement from the Disney Parks Blog:
“Debuting this fall, the new Grand Avenue area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is being re-imagined by Walt Disney Imagineering to capture the spirit of present-day Downtown Los Angeles, showing vintage office buildings and warehouses representing the different vibrant districts and cultures of the city. One prominent hot spot to spring up is the BaseLine Tap House, a cheerful corner pub specializing in beer and wines from California.
In a quaint brick building, BaseLine Tap House celebrates the revitalization of Downtown Los Angeles by paying homage to the building’s former life as the Figueroa Printing Company, a mom-and-pop print house that had ties to the Disney studios in nearby Burbank. The space retains many of its cool architectural and mechanical details with exposed walls and old printing equipment and artifacts, blending the past and present in an inviting space. Outside is a charming tree-shaded terrace, perfect for a relaxing break in the day.
California craft ales, lagers and cider are the stars of the drink menu. California wines on tap along with specialty cocktails are not to be missed either. A gourmet non-alcoholic lemonade and soda on tap round out the drink selection.
If you’re feeling peckish, try one of the small bites, including a Bavarian pretzel with mustard and beer-cheese fondue, spiced almonds or a charcuterie board featuring California cheeses.
BaseLine Tap House will open daily at 11 a.m. Check the Disney Parks Blog for an announcement of the opening date.”
