I know going to Walt Disney World with a newborn can seem overwhelming, but as long as you’re prepared you’ll be fine! In order to save space in your suitcase there are a few things I would recommend ordering to your resort such as diapers, wipes, formula, bottled water, etc. Don’t panic if you forget anything. You can always take an Uber from your resort to a store and the parks all have Baby Care Centers with just about anything you could need for purchase. Just know that you will pay a premium in the park.

Small Scented Diaper Bags

Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Bag Dispenser These are a lifesaver when you have a diaper blow out at a Disney Park or Disney World Resort Hotel. Just throw the smelly diaper away and put the dirty clothes in a bag to wash when you get back to your room. I also bring a few larger scented garbage bags for the room.

Small Stain Remover

Tide To Go Instant Stain Remover – This comes in handy for diaper blowouts or messy kids….and adults.

*NOTE- all disney resorts have laundry rooms with soap for purchase and Disney Vacation Club Villas have washers and dryers in their rooms with complimentary laundry detergent.

Clothes

Simple Joys by Carters –  I always plan on 3 outfit changes a day for baby. I pack 3 in the diaper bag each day. I’ve found that mix and match layered outfits are the best.

*NOTE- be sure to check the weather and be prepared for anything in Florida. We’ve had trips where it’s been 80 degrees one day and dropped to the 40’s 2 nights later.

Sunscreen, Baby Tylenol, Benadryl, Etc.

You never know when your baby might get sick or have an allergic reaction.

*NOTE- they have a first aid located in all the parks and a variety of medicine in the resort general store but I always like to have my own on hand just in case!

Wipes

I like to bring a big pack of wipes in the diaper bag and pack 2 extra in the suitcase.

Diapers

I pack however many diapers my baby goes through in a day at home and then add 3-5 more.

Changing Pad

Skip Hop Pronto Changing Pad – I love my Skip Hop changing pad for Disney trips! I pack 3 diapers, some wipes, and an extra onesie, and keep it hooked to the stroller instead of having to take the diaper bag into the bathroom every time. (Didn’t figure this trick out until my 2nd baby, it’s so much easier!)

Stroller

Baby Jogger City Select LUX Stroller – Now you have a couple options when it comes to the stroller situation, you can rent from Disney, rent from an outside stroller company (Simple Stroller Rental is my favorite and you can get 5% off with my code MICKEYMOM), or you could bring your own. If you are bringing your own stroller and you’re worried about getting it damaged I would recommend getting a padded stroller bag

Infant Car Seat

Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat – With the cancellation of Disney’s Magical Express, this is now a necessity since you’ll have to Uber or rent a car. When my daughter was 4 week old, not only did we use the car seat in the rental car, but we also used it in the parks on the stroller. On our next trip, our new baby will be 3 months old so I’ll be taking the bassinet attachment along with the car seat.

Stroller Tag

Pomchies – There are going to be thousands of strollers that look just like yours, so you need to add something to make it stand out. When you park your stroller to go on a ride, cast members will often move them to make room for more strollers. I recommend something brightly colored or in desperate times a balloon works. Keep in mind the balloon is kind of a pain when you’re walking around and it keeps hitting you and others in the face. I like these bright Pomchies tied around the handle.

Carrier

Lillebaby The Complete Airflow 360° Ergonomic Six-Position Baby & Child Carrier – this is a must!!!! The stroller is great, but when you’re wearing them and they fall asleep, you can still go on rides without ever having to wake them! I love my Lillebaby carrier. It’s super comfortable and can be used from infant size to toddler age without any inserts or additional accessories. I used this with my daughter at 4 weeks in Disney World and still use it when we go on hikes now that she’s 3.

Stroller Fan

WiHoo Mini Handheld Stroller Fan – Stroller fans are perfect for keeping your baby comfortable on hot days, especially in Central Florida.

Cooling Towel

FROGG TOGGS Chilly Towel – these are great for when it’s hot and you’re wearing the baby in the carrier. I like to put a cooling towel in between me and the baby. I also use these to cover the baby when they fall asleep in the stroller and it’s extra hot.

Poncho or Stroller Shield

It’s Florida, I always plan on rain. I have at least one cheap poncho in the stroller to cover the baby even if it isn’t rainy season. If it is rainy season you might want to invest in a stroller rain shield to protect the baby from the elements

Muslin Swaddle

Aden + Anais Disney Swaddle Blanket – the extra large muslin blankets are the best for a variety of different uses. In the Disney parks, I use them to block the sun in the stroller and cover the baby if it gets a little chilly. In the hotel room it’s great for laying on the floor so the baby can stretch out.

*NOTE- I usually bring a thicker blanket but only bring it into the park if it’s going to be cold.

UPF Hat For Baby & Sunglasses for Mom

Sunday Afternoons Infant Sunsprout Hat – A hat is very necessary for your newborn or infant in the Florida sun. If it’s a swim hat, you can even wet it to cool your baby down.

Luke Skywalkerâ„¢ X‑Wingâ„¢ Starfighter by DIFF – Treat yourself to a pair of sunglasses from the Star Wars Collection by DIFF! Not only are these shades stylish, but every pair of DIFF glasses sold helps to provide the gift of sight to someone in need through eye exams, glasses, medicine, and surgery. To date, DIFF has donated over 1.5 MILLION pairs of glasses worldwide. Click here for Star Wars themed styles.

Extra Bottles

I always bring 2 bottles into the park, just in case one gets lost (which has happened to us a couple of times). I always pack an additional 2 bottles in the suitcase for a total of 4.

Small Dish Soap & Bottle Brush

Dapple Pure N’ Clean Dishwashing Liquid, Munchkin Bristle Bottle Brush – There’s nothing worse than a smelly bottle! I keep both the Dapple & the bottle brush in my diaper bag to use in the parks or at the resort to clean out bottles at the end of the night. I actually use a cheap dollar store toothbrush to put in the diaper bag for quick cleanings.

Baby Food Pouches / Reusable Baby Food Pouches

WeeSprout Double Zipper Reusable Food Pouches – If your baby is at the stage where they’re eating solid food, pouches are a great way to feed baby on the go without needing spoons! I also order apple sauce from InstaCart to fill the reusable pouches. Just make sure not to over fill them to avoid explosions.

Swim Diaper / Diaper Cover

Alvababy Reusable Swim Diapers  – I only pack a couple of these depending on how many pool days we have planned. But they eliminate the hassle and mess of taking a baby in the pool in their regular diaper.

Bibs

Reusable

If your baby is in the stage of eating solids I prefer these bibs for feedings because they are easy to wipe off. I only keep one of these in the diaper bag and use them only when the baby is eating.

All-Day Bibs For Babies

If your baby is eating formula, breast milk, or in the drooling and needs to wear a bib all day, I like these bibs. I usually keep 2 soft bibs in the diaper bag at all times*. Depending on how many bibs you go through at home, I usually pack 1 for each day and wash them as needed.

*this depends on how much your baby drools.

Ziploc Baggies

I always pack 5 big and 5 small. They always come in handy and take up no room in the suitcase.

Travel Sound Machine

These are the best for helping your baby sleep in the parks and in the hotel room! Mine is small in size and lights up. We’ve used it from the time my daughter was born. She slept so well for us in Disney at just 4 weeks old. I think having something familiar helped a lot. It really helps drown out park noise as well as any noise from the hallways at the hotel.

These items were musts for our Disney World trips when my kids were babies. I’ll be using all of them once again when our new little one arrives! What are some of the items you couldn’t go without when you visited Walt Disney World with your newborn or infant? Let me know in the comments below!
